The family owned enterprise was founded back in 1947. MIAS GmbH in its present form emerged from the former
"Buettner Stahl- und Maschinenbau" in 1985. There are 280 employees that work for the group of companies currently. The basis of MIAS is the know-how that has been developed by Buettner Stahl und Maschinenbau. Over the course of the time it has steadily been extending its product range and the penetration of the market. For instance the first sliding fork/table - todays telescopic fork - was filed a patent in 1965 by Buettner. At the same time one of the first german high bay warehouses was designed and manufactured by Buettner in cooperation with Bayer AG (R).

On manufacturing areas in Munich, Hungary, China and in the US MIAS provides the ideal conditions for an efficient and complete handling of your assignment.

While our hungarian subsidiary MATRA is operating since 1989, with the foundation of Mias Inc., Material Handling Systems & Service in Fort Mill/Charlotte we set course for future growth, including strengthening our international presence. USA was followed in 2009 by MIAS Materials Handling (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. with premises in Kunshan/Shanghai in the P.R. of China. Since opening up a manufacturing area in 2010 in Kunshan, we can also offer our chinese and asian clients shortest delivery times and fast service. Consistently developing our distribution and service network we launched MIAS Italy in 2011.
